Our Story
Our berry farm was quite a different place when we started out in 1999.
Since then, we’ve been continually investing and improving our farm to grow the very best tasting berries in a sustainable way. We like the name ‘Tauwhare’ as its translation from Te Reo is ‘place of rest’ or ‘stopover’. The koru in our logo represents perpetual movement and we look forward to seeing how this develops for us in the coming years.
Our address is ‘487 Tauwhare Road’ which provides a strong connection to the name. We felt it was very relevant that the meaning of ‘tauwhare’ in Maori is ‘a place of rest’ or ‘stopover’.
Our Farm shop here at Tauwhare Berry Farm is the first point of contact for locals and tourists alike. Here they can buy berries directly from our farm, alongside our famous ice cream, other produce and giftware.
